I have moved home. Please come and visit me at my new address and we can have a coffee and a cake! Well, at least we can share ideas over metaphorical cake! http://josephineyoungs.wordpress.com/
No matter how grouchy you're feeling,
You'll find the smile more or less healing.
It grows in a wreath
All around the front teeth -
Thus preserving the face from congealing.
~Anthony Euwer
"You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go round will wave at his parents everytime round - and why his parents will always wave back." William D Tammeus
I recently found these words from Charlie Kaufman.
"Do not simplify. Let’s not worry about what it looks like, let’s not worry about failure. Failure is a badge of honour; it means you risked failure. If you don’t risk failure you’re never going to do anything that’s different than what you’ve already done, or what somebody else has done."
Thank you Charlie, just what I needed!
My Grandpa used to play a game with us as children which he called smiley thinks. Here is one I came across today.

"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." Roald Dahl
My first book, which tells the tale of Baffin the dragonasaurus and his adventures, is about to be illustrated! The second book in my dragonasaurus series is coming hot on Baffin’s heels.
When he was a boy, my son Jack loved to hear about Baffin the dragonasaurus and his dragonasaurus friends – not to mention the fearsome Grong! Jack is 19 now (time certainly flies!) and I am finally doing what I always promised both myself and Jack that I would do. I am writing down the dragonasaurus stories to share with families everywhere.
Storytelling has always been a hugely important part of my life. Some of my happiest childhood memories are of curling up with my Grandpa, for Tales of Peter Rabbit & Co. My sister and I listened for hours to my Mum’s amazing stories of adventure and magic. I vividly recall my sister sliding lower and lower in her chair until eventually she disappeared completely under the table during one particularly gripping story! Years later, as a mum, I got to share story time with my son Jack and a whole new batch of happy memories where created.
I hope that my stories give some of the pleasure that my family have enjoyed over the years.
